Driven by passion for the natural world at the tender age of 21, he did not take “no” from the British, but turned to the Swazi Monarchy and his own family, finding warm support which enabled the establishment of conservation in Swaziland. At Mlilwane’s official opening in 1964, the SA Wildlife Society chairman stated Mlilwane was "a beautiful but impossible dream." That was over 50 years ago. Against all odds, and with love and pride in Swaziland’s natural heritage, Reilly and his dedicated team built a truly unique private organization. The city lies at the mouth of the Umgeni River, which demarcates parts of Durban’s north city limit, while other sections of the river flow through the city itself. Durban has a natural harbour, Durban Harbour, which is the busiest port in South Africa and is the 4th-busiest in the Southern Hemisphere. In Durban we drive on the left-hand side of road, the highest speed limit on our national freeways (highways) is 120 Kilometres per hour and local areas it is about 60 kilometres per hour. Whilst an international driving is mainly preferred, some foreign drivers’ licenses are permissible, and they must have a driver’s photo and must in be issued in English. Permissible driving age is 18 years old, but car hires may require one to a bit older at mostly 23 years old.

Starlight Caravans was established as Starlight Motors in 1983, selling cars, caravans and boats. In 2011 the company switched to buying and seling pre-owned caravans and offroads only. We pleasantly noticed that caravan clients are a special community and one of these aspects that excited us is how caravan clients make buying a caravan a family outing and experience. We felt we could give a good service to the Pretoria and surrounding caravan community and meet their needs for good quality second hand used (pre-owned) caravans. We are a group of passionate volunteers who give freely of our time and skills to support conservation in the South African National Parks. The SANParks Honorary Rangers is the SANParks volunteer organisation, functioning according to an official agreement with SANParks. We provide the people of South Africa and our business community the opportunity to support our national parks. We are the SANParks preferred channel for public support towards our national parks. The SANParks Honorary Rangers movement has a long history. Volunteers were active in the Kruger National Park as early as 1902, helping to alleviate the workload of full-time rangers, but we were officially established on 5th May 1964. Today, there are over 1, 300 SANParks Honorary Rangers, all volunteers, based in 31 regions around the country and working in all 21 our national parks, such as Kruger, Addo, Table Mountain and Kgalagadi National Parks. Our members are involved on various levels, from assisting at entry gates, raising funds for counter poaching activities, assisting in visitor management, running youth activities and even giving specialist advice on infrastructure and scientific projects.

The Senqu municipal area is part of the greater Joe Gqabi District which is situated in the north of the Eastern Cape. It includes Sterkspruit, Barkly East, Rhodes, Rossouw and Lady Grey. The southern part of the Drakensberg runs through the area and the particular part of the mountain range is called the Witteberg. This mountainous area is also known as the Eastern Cape Highlands and it borders on Lesotho in the north. It includes the Tiffendell Ski Resort as well as some of the highest mountain passes in South Africa such as Naude’s Nek and Joubert’s Pass. The area is rich in sandstone, fossil beds and rock art and is well known for its biodiversity, fly-fishing and hiking trails. The majestic mountains, deep gorges, pristine rivers and absolute beauty of the Eastern Cape Highlands make it a “got to go” area for all nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Visitors are amazed by the openness, space and clean, unpolluted air. The area is steeped in the history of Africa. Geologically, the volcanic peaks bear reference to the great turmoil that created the magnificent Drakensberg range. Botanically, the high mountains are home to South Africa’s own alpine plant species. Culturally, it hosts a substantial collection of paintings by our earliest inhabitants, the San Bushmen, and many historical places that commemorate events of the many later inhabitants. The Xhosa, Sesotho and Hlubie tribes played a significant role on the area, as did the British, Dutch and German settlers. Most visitors drive through and enjoy the scenery without realising they have missed the hidden gems on route.
